Tuna Patties – Empanadillas de Atún

  • 1 Onion,
  • Red Pepper
  • Clove of Garlic
  • Olive Oil.
  • 2 Cans of Tuna in oil,
  • Tomato sauce
  • 2 boiled eggs,
  • salt
  • pepper
  • oregano
  • paprika

For the dough

  • 250 gr. flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ tablespoon sugar
  • 1 egg yolk

Preheat your over to 180 degrees celsius.

Finely chop an onion, a red pepper and one clove of garlic and put it in a frying pan with two table spoons of olive oil.

Fry until the onions and peppers until soft, then add  two cans of tuna in oil, two or three tablespoons of tomato sauce and finally chop two boiled eggs, add salt, pepper, oregano and one tea spoon of paprika .

For the Dough

In a bowl mix the flour, milk, sugar, egg yolk and the butter, making sure you melt the butter before you pour it in the bowl.

Pour some flour on the table and place your dough on top, this will avoid it sticking. Roll your dough until it is nice and thin then cut it into  12 cm circles.

Put the stuffing in the middle of the circle, fold the circle in half and close the edges with a fork, you can either fry it in a deep fryer until golden brown or you can brush a beaten egg over them and stick it in the oven until the golden brown.
