Ingredients
- 1lb topside beef chunks
- 1 large onion,
- 3 cloves garlic,
- 4 carrots,
- 1 bay leaf,
- 2 teaspoons tomato puree,
- 1/2pint beef stock,
- 1 tablespoon sugar,
- 300 ml. Guinness,
- Worcester sauce,
- tablespoon HP Sauce,
- salt and pepper
Method
Fry chopped onion and garlic in olive oil, add meat and fry for a few minutes then add all the other ingredients and bring to the boil. Lower heat and simmer very gently for at least an hour or until meat and veggies are tender.
Roll out puff pastry and fill with this mixture, top it up with more puff pasty and glaze with beaten egg.
Oven temperature 180 for about 45 minutes or until golden
