Mama’s Fish Pie

Smokey, creamy and rich fish pie. This fish pie is a great one for the kids to enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 200g smoked cod / haddock
  • 250g white fish
  • 2 Carrots
  • 5 Medium potatoes
  • Small can of peas
  • Black pepper
  • Pinch nutmeg
  • 2 Eggs
  • 100g cheese
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 50g flour

Method

Dice and slice the carrots and potatoes and place these to boil in a pan until they soften. Place your eggs to harden, by boiling in a separate pan.

In a separate pan heat the milk and melt in the butter, stirring in the flour so it thickens. Season with a pinch of nutmeg.

Grab an oven dish and flake in the fish in chunks, covering with the milk sauce, peas and carrots. Season and cover with hard boiled egg slices, a layer of the mashed potato and cheese to finish off.

Transfer to the oven and bake for 40 minutes at 180°C until cooked through.
