Drunk pears are fun to make, and so tasty. If you get the confidence to flambe the pears then you just double the fun.
Ingredients
- 1 large tin of pears in syrup
- 1 glass brandy
- Ice cream
- filo pastry
Method
Place the pears and syrup in a frying pan and heat up, caramelising them slowly.
in the meantime place a couple of filo pastry sheets in the oven to crisp.
Once the pears syrup as reduced and the pears darken, add in a glass of brandy and allow this so heat up and bubble. Next, carefully pass a flame over the pan so that it catches fire and burns out the alcohol. Leave the pears to reduce and thicken completely, flipping the pears over occasionally.
Serve your pears on a bed of crumbled up filo and alongside some scoops of tart ice cream.
